Montauk Manor

What a wonderful experience we had at Montauk Manor !! So great that we are going back for the holidays ! First, I love the energy they put for the decoration ! It was already beautifully decorated for the holidays … in November ! We were fabulously welcomed ! Big up for the team ! We rented an appartement with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen, we had everything we needed, we were two adults and a child. A restaurant called Monte’s is on the first floor which very convenient : they serve breakfasts, lunches and dinners… and cocktails that you can enjoy by one the fire places … the food is good and I recommend booking in advance because it was very busy when we were there. They have a room with old movies that you can pick/ choose to watch in your room / apartment … old fashion and we loved it ! It felt like in the 80s/90s. You can watch the sunset from their garden, the view is gorgeous, they put chairs so we can seat and enjoy. The location is very central, you can easily drive to downtown / the restaurants, you’ll be there in a few minutes. We love love Montauk Manor ! We were in a 2 bedroom. Beautiful apartment. Much more opulent than I've every experienced it Montauk. I believe it's the nicest unit on the property. Service is very professional and thorough. Rigorous vetting before you reserve and at check in. They are very protective of the property and do not want anyone under the age of 25 (or is it 23) renting the unit. I had to explain my two sons that are almost 21. Views are breathtaking. Unfortunately a 5-10 min drive to the beach, but the property provides transportation to the beach and into town so you don't have to worry about parking. I recommend this property if you are looking for a mature, quiet stay. Not so sure it's suitable for all families.

Sometimes you need a short vacation, but you wish you could bring your home with you. Staying at the Manor allowed us to bring our home with us. We felt so comfortable and welcome at this historic setting on a hill overlooking breathtaking views. We have been staying in the Montauk area at different times since our children were very young. We have great memories of the nostalgic town. This was the first time we stayed at the Montauk Manor, and I’m sure it will not be our last. With its centralized position, we had easy access to all the different attractions, shops, and restaurants. We recommend everyone should take their own, home away from home vacation!

I stayed here with 3 of my girl friends over the weekend. I am the one who booked it and I am 25 years old. I went with 2 friends who are 23. We are all respectful, put together and quiet people. Upon check in, the front desk women seemed to have a bit of an attitude when looking at our IDs saying we cannot stay here because we are not all 25. I mentioned how I am the one who booked it and I am the one checking in. We paid for the hotel, and are now having an issue that she needed to get a manager for to see if we can still stay... The manager had an attitude and restated that you must be 25 years old to stay, meanwhile we saw multiple people younger than us roaming the building. She said we are allowed to stay, but if we stay, she is going to have security nearby our room to 'check up'. This felt very uncomfortable considering we are all teachers just trying to have a nice relaxing overnight trip on our long weekend from work. We are not rowdy, crazy people so it made us feel very awkward. She also asked us multiple times if we were planning on bringing anyone else into our hotel room after we said no it was just us 3 multiple times. Hotel room was adorable, and the place was quaint, but the customer service needs help. NO WHERE on the booking site did it mention nobody could be under 25. If that was the case we wouldve booked elsewhere to save ourselves the hassle and embarrassment.

Just a fabulously beautiful and unique hotel. Every time I come here I'm afraid it will be the last time - I can't imagine how they turn a profit for the whole year - but I'm delighted they are still here. Excellent rooms, quirky but almost always in a good way. Mostly a summer place but always worth a visit. Perhaps I'm wrong in my estimation and it will be here forever - here's hoping. Anyway, catch it while you can.
